The information gathered in this study will help these groups understand the efforts of nonprofits in the Metro Atlanta (M.A.) area as well as the needs of veterans in the area by providing an environmental scan and analysis of the current state of nonprofits serving veterans and veterans in the area of concern. Subsequently, this report will reveal gaps in service between what is currently provided to veterans and what veterans need now and will need in the future. Metro Atlanta is defined here as Cherokee, Cobb, Clayton, DeKalb, Douglas, Fayette, Fulton, Gwinnett, Henry and Rockdale counties.

This report includes a demographic and contextual overview of M.A. veterans, veterans’ issues, and nonprofit organizations; both the individual and organizational survey results; and an analysis that covers recommendations and strategies for overcoming identified barriers to service provision and utilization.
