Donna is an expert in the areas of fundraising and development, including annual campaigns, major donors, grant writing, event sponsorships and budgeting, and planning for conventions and events of all sizes (from 50 attendees to 50,000). She is also highly experienced in forging and managing strategic partnerships, recruiting and building boards, and board committees.
Prior to her role at GCN, Donna worked for and with international, national, and local trade associations, scientific organizations, and membership organizations to advance their missions and grow revenue. After graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from the Grady College of Mass Communications at the University of Georgia, Donna began her career in Washington, DC, working in convention management for several organizations. Following that, she moved into the areas of event sponsorships and development, which brought her to South Carolina to build a fundraising department and start a foundation for a $65 million nonprofit focused on conservation nationwide. She then returned to Coastal Georgia, where she was raised, to serve several organizations in the social services sector.
A Coastal Georgia native, Donna enjoys boating and creating sculptures from shells and driftwood that wash up along the coastline.
