Power Up Your Giving Campaign

GCN and SunTrust invite you to a special presentation focused on building nonprofit success through strategically developing diverse financial resources.

On September 26, join us for a special two-part Member Expert Series Event. As we gear up for the second Georgia Gives Day, we’ll focus on strategies and tactics to help power up your individual giving campaign this fall. Join us for fresh insight on how to activate your nonprofit’s supporters to expand your circle of donors, along with social media strategies to maximize results.

Your Online Cause Champions:
A New Model for Donor Engagement

Presented by Julie Dixon | Deputy Director, Georgetown University’s Center for Social Impact Communication

According to the latest Giving USA research, 72% of donations come from individual givers. More than ever, those individuals are online: discovering, giving to, and supporting causes through social media platforms like Facebook and GCN’s own Georgia Gives Day. Though some would call them “slacktivists,” the reality is that your online champions are far more likely to volunteer, donate, and get others to do the same than their offline counterparts.

With her game-changing take on individual donors based in original research and insights, presenter Julie Dixon, deputy director of Georgetown University’s Center for Social Impact Communication, will give you a new way to think about today’s individual donors, the forces motivating them, and their unique ability to call forth a tidal wave of new giving.

Immediately following Dixon's talk, you are invited to three expert-led “huddles” on the tactics that will socialize and supercharge your giving campaign.

Activating Your Cause Champions
Led by Julie Dixon and Georgia Gives team

Social media doesn’t just make it incredibly easy for supporters to promote your nonprofit, but rewarding, fun, and powerful. Together, Dixon and the GA Gives team will fill you in on the techniques and tools you need to get and leverage your champions online. From Facebook “shares” to activating matching funds to joining a corps of “Personal Fundraisers," empowered and influential champions amplify your message, expand your circle of supporters, and grow your fundraising potential.

Building Community Buzz Online
Led by Davin Green | Lead Strategist, Green Machine, Inc.

To spread the word about your nonprofit’s good work, your supporters need the same tools you use: the elevator pitch, the client testimony, the impact measurements. But how do you make those tools shareable, clickable, and optimal for spreading online? Davin Green, of Atlanta’s Green Machine, Inc, has helped countless nonprofits and organizations meet and exceed their goals online. Green will show you how to get attention, spark conversation, and extend the reach (and impact) of your online giving campaign without completely changing your daily workflow. Come ready with questions about how to maximize the effectiveness of your nonprofit’s Twitter feed, blog, and GA Gives profile.

Leveraging Incentive Funds
Led by SunTrust and Georgia Gives team

It is proven that utilizing incentive funds exponentially grows nonprofit fundraising performance for online giving days, but how do you do it?  Learn from nonprofits who successfully leveraged individual and foundation matches to maximize fundraising. Our GA Gives team and SunTrust trepresentatives will also highlight targeted incentive opportunities and the funder perspective on incentives.
