GAgives will celebrate the beginning of the GAgives campaign season with an interactive event providing inspiration and guidance to organizations launching or expanding their GA Gives Day campaigns, starting with a spirited rally on the midtown campus of The Woodruff Arts Center followed by a keynote address by Kathleen Murphy Toms, Consultant for Digital Strategy at The Belfer Center for Innovation and Social Impact, 92Y.
As Digital Strategy and Communications Director for #GivingTuesday, Kathleen Murphy Toms teaches nonprofits how to raise awareness, change minds, engage hearts, open wallets, and rally people to action. Before joining the Belfer Center for Innovation & Social Impact team, she led Illinois’ statewide #GivingTuesday campaign, organized several political campaigns, and served as Director of Communications at Forefront, Illinois’ statewide social impact association. Kathleen is on the board of directors of EPIC (Engaging Philanthropy, Inspiring Creatives), which provides pro bono creative work to Chicago-area nonprofits, and serves on the associate board of New Moms, supporting young mothers and their children who are experiencing poverty and homelessness with critical personal and workforce development skills and tools they need to permanently change their life stories.
The GAgives Kickoff Summit will also feature facilitated panel discussions around campaign planning, promotion, strategy, and tactics with some of Georgia’s own top-performing nonprofit professionals. All participating nonprofits are invited to attend with their GAgives teams or may experience the event via live stream. Event highlights, videos, and PowerPoint presentations will be made available following the event via email communications, social media, and GAgives.org.
