WSB Nonprofit Media Summit

August 24, 2016
GCN and the WSB-TV Family 2 Family project partnered for a special forum about promoting a nonprofit's work and impact through television, radio, print, and digital media. Five nonprofit organizations had the opportunity to deliver a two-minute pitch to our panel of media veterans, who will provide immediate feedback based on their expert opinions. 

A Special GCN Event at The Fox

GCN welcomed more than 250 nonprofit professionals—members and nonmembers alike—to The Fox Theatre for a free afternoon of funder insight, thought leader expertise, and in-depth networking with grantmakers, colleagues, and the author of Romancing the Brand: How Brands Create Strong, Intimate Relationships with Consumers. Georgia Veterans Services Briefing

Macon Social Services Forum 

February 5, 2014
GCN and the Peyton Anderson Foundation partnered up to perform a comprehensive study of nonprofits providing social services support in Macon and Bibb County. Member Holiday Party

More than 150 members attended GCN’s festive Holiday Party at Monday Night Brewing. Attendees enjoyed micro-beer tastings, networking with fellow members and our Georgia Gives Day partners, tours of the brewery, raffle prizes, snacks and our popular photobooth!

Georgia Gives Day Flashmob

November 13, 2013
Lunchtime shoppers at Lenox Mall got an extra surprise on Georgia Gives Day as GCN staged a high-energy “flashmob” to bring more attention to our day of giving and on-the spot donations. With help from the Atlanta Falcons cheerleaders, the event drew a curious crowd inside the mall and was covered live by local TV and radio stations. Power Up Your Giving Campaign | GCN Member Expert Series Event

September 26, 2013
GCN members gathered at SunTrust for a special two-part event with fresh insight on how to activate nonprofit supporters to expand the circle of donors, along with social media strategies to maximize results. After coffee and networking, members heard from Julie Dixon, Deputy Director for Georgetown University's Center for Social Impact Communication as she presented her original research on the forces and opportunities in engaging today's individual donors online. Immediately after, members chose one of three breakout sessions: Activating Your Cause Champions, Building Community Buzz Online, or Leveraging Incentive Funds. Nonprofit Summit 2013: Ignite Possible

May 20-21, 2013
More than 400 nonprofit professionals attended the 22nd annual Nonprofit Summit.  A brand-new format meant a more interactive, customizable experience, and a greater level of intimacy for the nationally-recognized speakers, consultants and cause community professionals sharing their expertise.  Ignite Presentations replaced keynote speeches, with Ann Cramer discussing the principle of work-life alignment, Rhonda Lowry detailing the “whys” of social networking and other tech trends, Ken Sharpe expounding on the “practical wisdom” hidden inside everyone and Julie Dixon explaining the secret currency of influence.  View photos from Nonprofit Summit 2013: Ignite Possible.

Succession Planning | GCN Member Expert Series Event

April 16, 2013
Approximately 70 GCN members gathered at the Woodruff Arts Center for a Member Expert Series event on Succession Planning. Led by GCN Senior Consultant Mary Hughes and Woodruff Arts Center President & CEO Virginia Hepner, members learned best practices for succession planning and participated in a panel discussion with the CEOs and Board Members from Atlanta Ballet and MedShare. GCN Corporate Community Breakfast

March 26, 2013
Each Spring, GCN hosts the Corporate Community Breakfast, a gathering of the Atlanta corporate and foundation community. Guest speakers at past breakfasts have included Joe Sibilia, Founder of CSRWire; CB Bhattacharya, Dean of International Relations at European School of Management and Technology; and Carol Cone, Managing Director of Edelman’s Brand and Corporate Citizenship.

Opportunity Knocks Atlanta Nonprofit Career Conference

OK held their annual Nonprofit Career Conference at the Smyrna Community Center where 75 attendees participated in workshops on job seeking and sector switching, resume review sessions, and one-on-one career path coaching. 

Linking Mission to Money | GCN Community Event

More than 200 GCN members and sector leaders met at Bank of America Plaza to hear former Harvard University CFO, New York City Deputy Budget Director and Federal Reserve Division Chief Allen Proctor speak on Linking Mission to Money, a dual-business approach to nonprofit financial sustainability.
