 | |  | Laurie Grant NicholsConsultant Laurie Grant Nichols has worked in the non-profit sector for 19 years, and is currently a consultant focused on resource development and "all things external affairs." Her prior leadership roles have included serving as CEO of Hands on Georgia, CDO at The Georgia Trust for Historic Perservation and the Atlanta Botanical Gardens, and as Director of Major Gifts for United Way of Metropolitan Atlanta. She has led capital and annual campaigns, direct mail, and membership programs, has managed board development, and understands the unique challenges facing start-up organizations. Laurie has also worked in higher education, serving as a career and leadership development specialist at two women's colleges -- Agnes Scott (Decatur, GA) and Brenau (Gainesville, GA). Laurie launched the Experiential Education program at Oglethorpe University in 1997, a precursor to the current Center for Civic Engagement. She holds an M.S. in Higher Education Administration from the University of Tennessee-Knoxville, and an undergraduate degree in English and Government from the College of William and Mary in Virginia. Laurie is Board Chair for the Georgia Council for International Visitors and Past President of the Georgia Executive Women's Network.
