ACCT 240 | Audits & the Audit Committee

The word “audit” often produces panic, fear, and uncertainty. Yet audits are simply a factor in providing proper financial management oversight of an organization.  The audit committee serves as a liaison to the organization’s independent external auditor and is a conduit to the internal control structure that mitigates risks such as fraud and embezzlement.  This course will help you to learn just what audits are and how audits can help you improve your operations and better serve your mission.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

  • What is an audit?
  • Choosing an auditor
  • Surviving an audit
  • Reading and interpreting the Auditor’s Report
  • What is an audit committee and what are its roles and responsibilities?
