How well does your website promote and support your mission?
Is your website accomplishing all that it could be doing for you?
Is it accomplishing anything at all for you?
Do you even understand what your website can do for you?

Whether you are planning your first web site or want to improve an existing site, this class will help you identify best practices for website design and apply them to your organization’s website.

You will learn:

Your website goals and web site architecture:  Learn to identify what goals your organization can accomplish with its website, and how the right site architecture can help you reach those goals.

Audience and writing for the web:  Learn why audience matters.  Who is using your website now?  Who do you want to use your website?  How do you write in a way that engages those users?

Web site design and usability: Learn how to recognize good and bad design.  Understand how a poorly designed site can be a detriment to your organization, while a well-designed site that is built for optimal usability can be leveraged to improve your organization's professional image and help you accomplish your goals.

Note - In order to get the most out of this class, you will need to perform a pre-class assessment on your web site. If you do not yet have a web site, this exercise will help you determine what web site needs your organization has and begin to plan appropriately. Once you have enrolled in the class, instructions for the assessment will be forwarded to you.

Nonprofit University is pleased to be partnering with ifPeople for this class. ifPeople works with nonprofit organizations to develop web sites that support the organization’s mission and foster collaborative communities.
