This course will help to identify ways to successfully engage, train, develop, and support volunteers to help them reach their potential – and thus help your organization to become the best it can be. Learning objectives:

This course is divided into two key components:
  Volunteer Training While Staffing

•  Design volunteer positions that are mission driven and appeal to potential    volunteers
• How to recruit volunteers for assignments that match their skills, interests, and abilities and identify assignments that allow them to grow to their potential
• Design and implement formal orientation and training for volunteers

   Volunteer Training & Development After Staffing – Ongoing Support

• Apply principles of motivation to acknowledge and reward volunteers and their staff partners
•  Solicit and manage volunteer input and feedback
• Develop training that will produce the results you need from your volunteers
•  Application of concepts of team building 
•  Volunteer discipline and dismissal procedures that are fair and equitable
