GCN is home to a number of ongoing special initiatives. These projects further expand the capacity of nonprofits throughout Georgia by encouraging strategic planning and collaborations, raising the profile of the work and worth of the nonprofit sector, and accelerating organizational impact through executive development. Below, learn more about our current special initiatives.
Since 2012, Georgia Gives Day has accomplished something much more than the $2.5 million raised for nonprofits across the state: it proves the power of partnership through a massive collaboration between nonprofits, foundations, companies, government and individuals who care. Through Georgia Gives Day, GCN has created a powerful annual giving movement in Georgia that will only continue to grow.
To support nonprofits addressing complex issues in communities around the state, GCN developed Momentum. The first and largest project of its kind in Georgia, this innovative process, based on extensive research, focuses on transforming the way nonprofits manage and sustain higher performance levels over time, while catalyzing communities of peer leaders to cooperatively tackle large and complex problems in their community. Momentum was first introduced on Georgia's southern coast, and now includes cohorts in Albany, Augusta, Macon and Savannah.
A collaboration between The Bridgespan Group and the Georgia Center for Nonprofits, Leading for Impact—Atlanta (LFI) is a two year program with a dual focus on executive team development and on the completion of two customized, team-led projects on priority issues. LFI accelerates organizational impact and executive team development, and does so with a select group of nonprofit leaders.
