Consulting Services | Executive Succession Planning & Transition

GCN consultants work to develop emergency succession plans and also to help an organization design and manage a leadership succession and new leader transition. Below are examples of some of the steps we may undertake in this process.

  • Design the succession and recruitment process.
  • Interview organizational stakeholders to gain input on the direction that the organization needs to take and to provide input to the ideal characteristics of future leaders.
  • Document the organization's roles and responsibilities.
  • Review and make recommendations on organizational structure and design.
  • Recommend how current staff can gain experience or knowledge in areas where they are lacking, or where there are high dependencies on current co-leaders, in order to ensure knowledge transfer.
  • Create a plan for systems or processes to strengthen the organization in undertaking a successful transition.
  • Plan communication of transition to various stakeholders.
  • Plan education and training of current staff or new leaders.
