2/20/2007

On February 16, Senate Finance Committee Ranking Member Charles Grassley (R-IA), along with a small group of bipartisan cosponsors, introduced the American National Red Cross Governance Modernization Act of 2007 (S. 655), which seeks to strengthen the governance of the congressionally chartered organization.

Proposed changes include downsizing the board of directors and making management responsible for day-to-day operations.  Red Cross officials have been working with Ranking Member Grassley to develop the legislation.
