Efforts To Spur Georgia's Economic Development

Legislators working on the FY 2006 Supplemental Budget continued their work today making some progress on resolving differences.  The “Subcommittee” assigned to work on the Budget issues involving the Departments of Human Resources and Community Health also made a report back to the Conferees.  Some items, which still appear to be in “play,” include finding a funding resolution for the Katie Beckett children.

It also appeared that the Conferees agreed to keep the approximately $400,000 in the Budget for hemophiliacs.  There was great discussion regarding the motorcycle safety program and how those dollars were expended.  There were also inquiries on the payment of legal fees for the Voter ID bill; Conferees asked who the Special Attorney Generals were that were appointed on this issue.  Conferees will meet again tomorrow.
