URGENT: Action Needed to Keep Charitable Incentives in Pension Reform Conference Bill

Over the last few days, House and Senate leadership and conferees have been debating a number of issues in order to complete work on the Pension Reform Bill they hope to pass this week.

We understand that there is a strong chance that a sensible package of charitable tax incentives combined with safeguards, which appear at this time to be in line with what Independent Sector has been seeking, might not be included in the Pension Reform Bill.

We therefore ask you all to act now to ensure that these incentives and responsible safeguards are included in the Pension Bill.

Time is of the essence. Please call as soon as possible the House and Senate members listed below who are conferees for the pension bill and ask them to include the sensible package of charitable tax incentives and safeguards negotiated by Senator Grassley and Chairman Thomas in the Pension Reform Conference Bill.
