Senate Finance Hurricane Tax Relief Package

The Senate Finance Committee announced its Hurricane Katrina tax relief package, which you can read here (PDF). In his remarks at the news conference, Chairman Grassley indicated that this package is a first step to get short-term aid to hurricane victims but that the Committee will continue to work on its larger charitable reform legislation. It is expected that the relief package legislation will move forward in the Senate this week.
