Charitable Giving Bill Reintroduced 09/29/05
Legislation containing tax incentives to encourage more donations to charities, which was passed by both houses of Congress in 2003 but was not sent to conference, has been introduced again in the House and Senate.
Blunt Announces Charitable Giving Bill 09/29/05
In a September 28 release, House Majority Whip Roy Blunt, R-Mo., and Rep. Harold E. Ford Jr., D-Tenn., announced the introduction of the Charitable Giving Act, which would provide a deduction for charitable contributions for nonitemizers and allow untaxed contributions from IRAs.
Santorum, Lieberman Reintroduce CARE Act 09/29/05
In a September 28 release, Senate Finance Committee member Rick Santorum, R-Pa., and Sen. Joseph I. Lieberman, D-Conn., reintroduced S. 1780, the CARE act, which would provide tax incentives to promote charitable giving.
