ELPNO: The Power of Partnership

Three primary partners collaborated to bring you the 2008 Executive Leadership Program for Nonprofit Organizations (ELPNO).  They formed an  educational team comprehensive in scope and extraordinarily relevant to the knowledge and experiences of the nonprofit sector, and to the needs of this sector as it prepares for the challenges of the next decade.

Emory University's Center for Ethics 

Emory University is an inquiry-driven, ethically engaged and diverse community whose members work collaboratively for positive transformation in the world through courageous leadership in teaching, research, scholarship, health care and social action.  Emory's Center for Ethics is well known for their  commitment in promoting the highest standards of ethical engagement across the professions.

The Center for Ethics is committed to being a national leader, recognized for excellence in ethical research, education and outreach by:
*strengthening ethical knowledge & stimulating moral imaginations
*generating and promoting original scholarship in ethics
*translating ethical thought into practice
*fostering lives of moral meaning and ethical engagement

The Center for Ethics' Signature Programs include: Servant Leadership, Health Sciences and Science and Society.  

The Nonprofit Studies Program (NSP) at Georgia State University





GSU's Nonprofit Studies Program offers a comprehensive educational, research and service program addressed to the needs of nonprofit managers and leaders in Atlanta, the U.S. and worldwide. 

Its graduate programs include nonprofit studies concentrations in the master of public administration and master of science in urban and policy studies degree programs, a graduate certificate in nonprofit management, and a nonprofit concentration in a joint Ph.D. program in public policy with the Georgia Institute of Technology.

The NSP also sponsors an annual executive roundtable for nonprofit chief executives in Atlanta, a series of research reports and working papers on important nonprofit issues, regular research seminars open to the community on cutting-edge research questions, and other programs that advance the state of knowledge and practice of nonprofit policy, management and leadership. 

The NSP is an integral part of the Andrew Young School of Policy Studies, which is known for its education of nonprofit and public sector leaders, preparing those who aspire to be future leaders and enhancing the skills of those already working in the nonprofit sector and government.

Georgia Center for Nonprofits

 




The Georgia Center for Nonprofits (GCN) serves, strengthens and supports Georgia's nonprofit community. GCN provides tools and resources to help nonprofits manage better and improve the environment in which they work. This statewide association serves more than 21,000 nonprofit organizations in Georgia, including those in the arts, human services, health care, education, environment, international assistance, community development, social justice and other subsectors. 

GCN provides education and training, technical assistance, consulting, low-cost group insurances, procurement solutions, information and referral, research, job and career services, and more. GCN also brings businesses, government and nonprofits together to strengthen and maximize the work of community-serving organizations, and helps state and local policy makers understand and support the work of nonprofits.
