Becky Smith Carter, CFREDevelopment Consultant and Coach Becky Smith Carter has more than 25 years’ experience as a consultant and coach for nonprofit leaders. Her strong faith-based philosophy benefits both faith-based and secular agencies. Using individual coaching as well as group process learning, she brings expertise in all methods of fund raising and resource development as well as board development, strategic planning, and marketing.
She is an award-winning public speaker and author of an acclaimed book about fund raising: How to Raise the Money You Need, Now! … Even if there’s Not Enough Staff, Money or Time for Fundraising. Her experiential learning activities, “The Fundraising Game” and “Ma and Pa Plan Their Estate” are often requested as well as her other unique learning materials in board work, fund raising, capital campaigns and planned giving.
She has worked with hundreds of nonprofit leaders in Georgia, nationally and internationally. She has provided training for national groups, including the American Red Cross, the Duke Endowment, the American Hospital Association, the National Association of Homes and Services for Children and Families, and the Association of Gospel Rescue Missions.
She also works with many small and rural and startup agencies, and is currently a fund-raising consultant to the state of Georgia, Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA), focusing her work on rural areas of the state.
Becky studied advertising at Wichita State University. Starting her career in for-profit advertising and marketing; she was a marketing director for the world’s largest mall developer, Simon Malls. She is a Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE) and extensively trained in planned giving. |
