Len Al Haas

Fund Raising, Planning and Technology Consultant

Len Al Haas, CFRE, is founder and president of Haas Consulting.  For almost 20 years, he has provided fund-raising, planning, and technology consulting services for or a wide variety of organizations, ranging from social service organizations to educational institutions and professional organizations.

Len Al began his career working in development and alumni affairs at Georgia State University, and later served as a consultant with a large Atlanta-based firm and as development director for Hillside Hospital. 

Len Al founded Haas Consulting in 1990.  He and his firm specialize in planning and directing challenging, less predictable fund-raising efforts, such as campaigns for start-up or very young organizations, as well as organizations engaged in critical transitions.

During his tenure as a consultant, Len Al has planned and managed successful annual and capital campaigns with goals ranging from $40,000 to $8,000,000.  His areas of expertise include cultivating and soliciting major donors, conducting development audits, strengthening annual giving programs, designing and writing materials, identifying and researching prospects, training volunteers, and writing effective grant proposals.

An active community volunteer for two decades, Len Al co-founded and serves as chairman of the board of TECH CORPS Georgia.  He also serves on the board of trustees of St. Martin’s Episcopal School, the advisory board of the Foundation Center – Atlanta, and as past president of the Greater Atlanta Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals.

He also is a frequent conference presenter, discussing topics such as fund raising and technology planning. Len Al is a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) and holds a B.A. from the University of Vermont and an M.B.A. from Georgia State University.  He also taught math and economics as a Peace Corps volunteer in West Africa.
