Elaine Chaney

Organization Development Consultant and Facilitator

Elaine Chaney is an accomplished facilitator and consultant with over 20 years’ experience in organizational change and facilitation.  She has provided consulting, training and facilitation services to over 50 nonprofit organizations in the environmental conservation, arts, social services, and healthcare fields.

Elaine specializes in designing and facilitating strategic planning and board development initiatives that involve people in meaningful ways.  She helps people and groups clarify their thinking and develop a vision for the future using proven techniques to engage communities, capture ideas, and focus energy into plans for change. Whether facilitating a senior-management retreat or a group of 100-plus employees, Elaine’s ability to bring people together toward a common goal has made her an asset to her clients.

Prior to establishing her own business, Elaine served as the organization development specialist for a major healthcare system, where she was responsible for the development, implementation, and evaluation of major human resource development initiatives and management training.

Elaine received her B.S. in medical technology from the University of Delaware, a M.S. in laboratory administration from Georgia State University, and a M.B.A. in human resource management/development from Kennesaw State College.  In addition, she has completed specific training in personal, team and organizational effectiveness through the NTL Institute for Applied Behavioral Science and has been trained in large-system change and large group interventions.

Elaine is a member of the Organization Change Alliance (1999 Chair), the Organization Development Network, and BoardSource (formally the National Center for Nonprofit Boards).  She is a member of the consultant network for both the Georgia Center for Nonprofits and the Institute for Conservation Leadership, where she is a lead consultant for the Institute’s Freshwater Leadership Initiative.
