CALL FOR NOMINATIONS: ANNUAL REVOLUTIONS AWARDS

Atlanta, GA - 12/18/2009 -

The Georgia Center for Nonprofits (GCN) announces that it is accepting nominations for the annual Revolutions Awards.  The awards will be presented on Saturday April 10, 2010 at The Georgia Nonprofit Summit which will be included as part of the Nonprofit Technology Conference this year in Atlanta, Georgia. The awards luncheon will be held at the Omni Hotel at the CNN Center and is proudly sponsored by Gifford, Hillegass & Ingwersen, LLP.

The Revolutions Award will be awarded for two categories:
• Outstanding Nonprofit Organization (one award)
• Outstanding Nonprofit Leader (one award)

2009 Revolutions Awards featured winners Christina Lennon, Executive Director of the Georgia Lions Lighthouse Foundation, for her work in providing vision and hearing services for Georgians and Skyland Trail for promoting recovery from mental illness and fostering reintegration into the community.

“The purpose of these awards is to acknowledge, recognize and celebrate revolutionary and innovative leaders and organizations within Georgia’s nonprofit sector.” says Karen Beavor, President and CEO of Georgia Center for Nonprofits. 

The deadline for 2010 nominations is Friday February 12, 2010 at 5:00 p.m.  Selection criteria and nomination application is available online at
