Nonprofit Essay Contest Rewards Futurist Thinkers

Up for grabs: Complimentary Nonprofit Summit Conference Pass $349, Introduced to the Georgia Nonprofit Community, Essay Read, Meet Usher and Ingrid Saunders Jones.

Atlanta, GA - 4/01/2009 -

The Georgia Center for Nonprofits (GCN) announced today the
“A Wonderful Nonprofit Tomorrow” Essay Contest.

Upholding the theme of the upcoming 18th Annual Nonprofit Summit Horizons: The Future of Nonprofits, applicants are asked to submit a written essay giving their vision of the future of the nonprofit sector. 

One winning essay will be chosen from applicants nationwide.  The winner will receive the following:

  • One Complimentary Registration to the 18th Annual Nonprofit Summit May 11-12, 2009 at AmericasMart in downtown Atlanta where the largest gathering of community leaders in the Southeast will share ideas and solutions to strengthen the nonprofit sector
  • Winner acknowledged, brought on stage and read their essay.
  • Winner to personally meet the 2009 Revolutions Philanthropic Awards winners Ingrid Saunders Jones, Senior Vice President of The Coca Cola Company and Grammy Award Winner Usher Raymond IV
  • Winner and essay to be honored and featured on GCN Website

All essays (1000 words maximum) should address how the nonprofit sector can be strengthened, what aspects of the sector need to change and what new ideas and innovations need to take hold in order to propel the nonprofit sector into a healthy, vibrant and sustainable pillar of the community now and for the next generation.  The essay needs to address the sector as a whole, rather than a specific segment (i.e. the arts).
