December Topic for High Performance - Celebrate Nonprofits!

Proudly sponsored by: The Coca-Cola Company

This December the focus is on you! The Georgia Center for Nonprofits is taking a moment in this season of giving to say thank you to all of our members who give so much of their time, energy and devotion to their communities and causes throughout the year.

We celebrate you, our cherished members, through special discounted rates on business services - from the Nonprofit Marketplace, and through delivering a wide range of services and support - from training, policy work and advocacy, to information, consulting, and networking. We are also highlighting ways that you can, in turn, appreciate your constituents and supporters.

The work of Georgia’s nonprofit organizations has powerful and far-reaching impact, not only on our communities, but on the economy and overall quality of life in our state. Today, GCN offers more ways than ever to help nonprofits meet their missions and maximize their impact, and through our member programs, organizations gain enhanced access to the critical tools, resources, services, and expertise needed to build nonprofit success. Through GCN, nonprofits are empowered to:

Extend Capacity - Through instant access to skilled consultants and our extensive network of experts in the community to answer questions about nonprofit practices.

Stay Current and Informed - Obtain up-to-date nonprofit news, issues, trend analysis and ideas through our monthly CenterView e-newsletter and from on-demand access to our online knowledgebase and in-depth research reports.

Develop Critical Skills - GCN’s Nonprofit University’s professional development resources specifically designed for nonprofits – from Certification to Executive programs.

Gain an Advocate - GCN is a powerful voice speaking up for nonprofits interests related to local, state, and federal issues.

Expand Networks - Connect with peers, share solutions, and “plug-in” to issues that matter to the sector through our events and online community forums.

Consult with Experts - Our expert consultants work on a project basis to address a range of critical challenges.

Thank you for all that you do to make GCN and your communities great!

Fundraising Spotlight - The Impact of Public-Private Partnerships

Public-Private Partnerships: Building Blocks to a Successful Partnership.
Public-Private Partnerships (PPP’s) operate at the boundary of the public and private sectors, presenting nonprofit organizations with new business opportunities.  For parties involved, The government accomplishes its goals without expanding bureaucracy; private agencies (including nonprofits) gain a new revenue stream to support larger workforces and more complex organizations;  and public receives expected services at a better value for their tax dollars.  It is important that an organization fully understand how PPP's work, as well as what risks and rewards are involved, in order to embark on a successful partnership.   Click here to learn about the six critical components of successful PPP's.

GCN’s partner The Coca-Cola Company understands the impact of Public-Private Partnerships.  Click here to read more about The Coca-Cola Company's partnership with The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), and how they are working to solve global problems at the intersection of business interests and development goals.

In October, The USAID honored The Coca-Cola Company with the Private-Sector Development Partner Award.  Click here to read the full press release.
