About Georgia Gives Day

The mission of Georgia Gives Day is to inspire individuals to donate to participating nonprofits with the goal of raising as much money as possible within a 24-hour period. GAgivesday.org makes donating easy by organizing hundreds of nonprofits across the state onto one website, providing the information people need to select a cause or charity of their choice, and enabling online donations by credit card or e-check.

Georgia Gives Day collectively raised $782,225 in a single day of giving on December 6, 2012. Participants visited www.GAgivesday.org and gave to a nonprofit of their choosing.

The website www.GAgives.org continues to operate as an all-year-round giving platform enabling the public to find the nonprofits that they wish to donate to and provides those nonprofits with a powerful fundraising tool to increase their development capacity. To date the website has garnered $850,000 of collective giving for participating nonprofits.

Any state registered, Georgia based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization is eligible to participate. There is no set-up fee to participate. Nonprofits enroll through a simple online registration form and receive an individual merchant account for donations to be directly deposited into the nonprofit's bank account. A low credit/debit card transaction fee has been negotiated by GCN for all participating nonprofits (2.85% for MasterCard/VISA/Discover qualified cards).
