Partnership for After School Education National Conference (Nov. 20-22, New York)

Pro-bono and other opportunities

Trying Times: Post Disaster Fund-raising Web Conference (Oct. 12)
Terry Axelrod of Raising More Money will address concerns about converting “disaster donors” to long-term donors. Also featured are aspects of disaster donations—such as Katrina relief—that motivate unprecedented giving; and how to tap into that sentiment for your organization’s mission. Registration is open to Center member only, free, required, limited, and on a first-come, first-served basis. The Web conference is hosted by National Council of Nonprofit Associations (NCNA). 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. EST.



Last Chance to Apply: Community Consulting Teams (CCT) and Pro-bono Management Consulting Services

CCT Atlanta welcomes applications from nonprofits that need pro-bono consulting services by our teams of volunteer MBAs. CCT welcomes projects in most areas related to marketing, planning, and business operations. Projects are selected in late fall, kick off next January, and are completed in

Scholarships for Executive Education Programs at Harvard Business School
The Harvard Business School Club of Atlanta will award four or more scholarships to attend one-week executive education programs in the Social Enterprise Initiative at Harvard Business School in summer 2006. The courses are “Strategic Perspectives in Nonprofit Management” (SPNM) and “Performance Measurement for Effective Management of Nonprofit Organizations” (PMNO) and will be held in Boston at HBS. UGA's Externship Program Seeks Nonprofit Hosts
Spots are available for the late October through early January externship program. Externs are short-term (typically a half-day or full-day), volunteer jobs-shadowing opportunities that allow students to observe work and investigate a career field. New Government Form: Contributions of Motor Vehicles, Boats, and Airplanes
The IRS has released new Form 1098-C (PDF), Contributions of Motor Vehicles, Boats, and Airplanes. The form is used by donee organizations to report the contribution of qualified vehicles to the IRS under new IRC section 170(f)(12). The form may also be used to provide the donor with a
contemporaneous written acknowledgment of the contribution.
