Leading Collaborative Efforts: Skills for Survival and Success (May 11, Atlanta)
The Georgia Center for Nonprofits and Institute for Conservation Leadership bring you this one-day workshop. Learn skills and tools to effectively manage and participate in a variety of cooperative efforts. You'll get best practices and skills for effectively leading cooperative efforts; tools to assess your own leadership and better manage cooperative efforts and their persistent tensions; a learning lab" environment in which to address difficult issues with your colleagues or consider your next steps. Atlanta Nonprofit Professionals April Social (April 20, Atlanta)
Atlanta Nonprofit Professionals' (ANP) mission is to connect and strengthen nonprofit professionals in metro Atlanta. Now a part of the Georgia Center for Nonprofits, ANP is new and improved for 2006. Monthly networking socials will continue to ensure that ANP members remain connected, while new opportunities through the Center will open doors to training and other leadership opportunities. Foundation Center Grantseeker Training Courses (Spring, Atlanta)
This spring, your team can develop its strategic skills in fund raising and nonprofit management. Special May Programs: Focus on Funding for Health
The Foundation Center-Atlanta is offering three special programs for its focus on Funding for Health in May. Healthy Seniors, Healthy Nonprofits: The Synergy of Senior Volunteerism (May 1, Atlanta); Fighting the Meth Epidemic in Georgia (May 17, Atlanta) ; Strengthening Georgia's Health Safety Net (May 25, Macon)--grantmakers, nonprofit executives and consultants will examine how Georgia's health organizations can build, strengthen and expand their capacities. Fulton County Arts Council and Funding Guidelines and Applicant Workshops for 2006--2007
Available funding up to $5,000. Applications and more information can be downloaded from the Fulton County Arts Council Web site. Call 404-730-5780 with questions. Workshops are required and seating is limited. Applicants must R.S.V.P. for workshops. Application deadline is May 31, 2006.


Announcing Grants for Innovative Volunteerism
Nonprofits located in or serving any 13 metro-Atlanta counties may apply for a grant from the Metro Atlanta Corporate Volunteer Council (MACVC). MACVC annually funds three local nonprofits. Grants are to fund projects that use volunteers, especially corporate volunteers, in effective, mission-focused and innovative ways. One winner will be awarded $20,000. Two additional nonprofits will each be awarded $5,000. Complete eligibility criteria and RFP are at www.macvc.org. Application deadline is June 6, 2006. Georgia Center for Nonprofits is partnering with MACVC to offer a grant-writing workshop with tips for applying for this grant on May 4, 5:00--7:00 p.m., $10. AMA Survey Reveals Salary Trends
The research company 6 Degrees conducted the "Compensation Survey of Marketing Professionals 2006" on behalf of the American Marketing Association, Aquent, and B2B magazine.
The second annual study represents the largest and most inclusive survey of its kind. The survey provides a targeted, easy-to-use, free resource for finding salary information. The salary survey results and a salary calculator are available online.
