Five Fast Ways to Recruit New Board Members
We tend to recruit board members from among our friends and acquaintances... no wonder we often run out of people in familiar circles to ask. At the same time, we often want to bring people onto the board who are more prestigious, wealthier, better connected, and who can add an important diversity component. We might, for example, want to recruit more people of color, more women, younger members, gay/lesbian individuals, residents in another part of the county. In short: recruiting is as much about knowing WHAT you want to recruit, as HOW to recruit. Keep reading >>

F.O.O.T.S.T.E.P.S.

FOOTSTEPS

Mission
We are a team of university students leading an initiative to make students more aware of development issues in the world. We have formed an organization called F.O.O.T.S.T.E.P.S with student representatives fromuniversities across the nation.

After taking the necessary steps to become a 501 ( c )3 non-profit organization, we have come up with a number of initiatives that we plan to launch on university campuses in 2007-2008. Our organization, F.O.O.T.S.T.E.P.S, is now a student-run non profit organization with the mission of spreading awareness and education of world development issues to students, initiating activism across university campuses. Instead of having hundreds of different organizations with one goal, we are structuring ourselves as an umbrella organization to bring students together to work directly with international organizations and to get involved in development on an international level.

For our 2007-2008 awareness effort, we are launching a “What’s Your Number?” campaign, educating students about the Millennium Development Goals fueled through the power of music. We plan to educate leading entertainment leaders to join us on a tour of university campuses to educate students about development. Read more about F.O.O.T.S.T.E.P.S.
