GCN is pleased to announce the Essentials of Nonprofit Management and Leadership Certificate. The series was specifically designed to meet the complex needs of today's nonprofit leaders with less than 5 years of experience, although participants with more experience can use the series to refresh knowledge and skills. Those aspiring to, or just entering into, leadership positions will also find the series a valuable career building experience. Scholarships are available for High Potential Diverse Leaders Program
The High-Potential Diverse Leaders Program, presented by the Allstate Foundation and the Georgia Center for Nonprofits, is a leadership development program designed to provide a diverse group of nonprofit professionals in the Southeast (i.e. Georgia, South Carolina and Alabama) with the skills needed to assume executive level responsibilities within the sector.

The Fulton County Arts Council Announces Funding Opportunities for Nonprofit Organizations and Artist Collectives
The deadline to submit applications is January 16, 2008.
Fulton County-based arts, cultural, and community-based nonprofit organizations and artist collectives are invited to apply for funding for the 2008/2009 contract cycle. Funding ranging from $1,000 to $150,000 is available to support arts programming in Fulton County. Guidelines and applications available online at www.fultonarts.org.
Fulton Arts Council Accepting Applications for Arts Funding Peer Review Panelists
The deadline to submit applications is January 31, 2008.
The Fulton County Arts Council’s Contracts for Services program is accepting applications for volunteer peer review panelists for the 2008-2009 contract cycle. Panelists will evaluate applications, make funding recommendations, provide guidance to staff in working with applications, and assist the Arts Council with policy and program development. Panelists will be selected to serve on one of seven panel groups scheduled to convene late March through April 2008. Call 404-612-5780 for more information, or to request an application form. The Harvard Business School Club of Atlanta is pleased to announce plans to award up to six scholarships to attend Executive Education Programs in the Social Enterprise Initiative (SEI) at Harvard Business School in Boston. The SEI was created to respond to the growing nonprofit sector and its complex relationships with the wider business world. The two courses offered are Performance Measurement for Effective Management of Nonprofit Organizations (PMNO) on June 16 to 19, 2008 and Strategic Perspectives in Nonprofit Management (SPNM) on July 13 to 19, 2008. The PMNO program is structured to help conceptualize and design the systems and processes necessary to measure and achieve desired performance. The SPNM course focuses on understanding core management concepts, applying these concepts strategically, and implementing change within the organization.. Scholarship winners will be selected by February 2008, and will be honored at a dinner hosted by the HBCSA in Spring 2008. A maximum of one scholarship may be awarded per applying organization, and an applicant may apply for a scholarship to only one of the courses.
