Essentials of Volunteer Management Certificate Program

GCN is pleased to announce another new Nonprofit University certificate series-the Essentials of Volunteer Management Certificate.
A five-module Nonprofit University certificate series that develops key volunteer management skills and provides the knowledge needed to recruit, retain and recognize volunteers. The five, three-hour sessions provide volunteer management essentials to organizations and individuals seeking the most current and effective approaches to assess and prepare volunteers for their significant role within the organization.
Class Spotlight: Social Networking, Blogs and Media
Tuesday, 6/03/08-Sherry Heyl
This course will focus on trends related to media (mobile marketing, online advertising, optimizing SEO, photos, interacting within social networks, video, widgets, and site usability) and creating content that your audience will respond to.
Class Spotlight: Introduction to Volunteer Administration
Thursday, 6/05/2008- Marty Atherton
You will gain an understanding of the scope of the volunteer administrator's job, as well as the competencies that are required for success in this century.
- The Role of the Volunteer Administrator
- Know and understand the roles of a volunteer administrator.
- Explain the various approaches to volunteer management.
- Competencies Required in Volunteer Administration
- Know and understand the different types of leadership that are associated with the competencies for volunteer administrators, and the specific competencies for each type.
