Our insurance and risk management consultant can provide a complimentary analysis for you, as well as shop numerous insurance companies to meet your policy and budgetary needs. IRA Rollover News from Independent Sector
Shortly before leaving for a two-week spring recess, the Senate incorporated into the FY 2009 Budget Resolution the Dorgan/Snowe amendment (# 4199) on reinstating expired tax relief. We now focus on the conference committee between the House and Senate to attempt to keep the pro-IRA rollover language in the final version of the budget resolution. Read more here.

The Atlanta Hawks and Atlanta Thrashers Foundation

The Atlanta Hawks Foundation and Atlanta Thrashers Foundation take pride in giving back to communities where our fans live, work and play. One way that we support these neighborhoods is through our grant programs.

Hawks Foundation
To make a meaningful impact, the Hawks Foundation has chosen to support the following three focus areas:

  1. Education – This grant is awarded to a non-profit that is using innovative methods and programs to educate Georgia's youth.
  2. Health & Wellness – In an effort to help reduce childhood obesity, this grant will be awarded to a non-profit organization helping kids develop an active lifestyle and/or healthy eating habits.
  3. Recreation – This grant is awarded to a non-profit organization dedicated to engaging youth in athletics and other physical fitness activities.
Thrashers Foundation
The Thrashers Foundation focuses on:
  1. Education – This grant is awarded to a non-profit that is using innovative methods and programs to educate Georgia's youth.
  2. Health – In support of the NHL's Hockey Fights Cancer initiative, this grant will be awarded to an organization fighting children's cancer and/or supporting those children battling the disease.
  3. Sports & Fitness – In an effort to help reduce childhood obesity, this grant will be awarded to a non-profit organization helping kids develop an active lifestyle and healthy eating habits.
Since the foundations receive funding requests far in excess of their budgets, worthy causes may be declined when even when the request falls into one of the three focus areas. The Foundations will be accepting grant applications thru April 15, 2008. Award notifications will be made in June 2008.
