Establishing a good governance structure is key for nonprofit organizations to be successful, and to operationalize their missions for optimal impact in the community. If you are a new nonprofit organization or an existing nonprofit that wants to make positive changes in the structure of your board, this course will provide you with tools to do that.

Learning objectives for this course will include:

*Describing examples of board structures that promote good governance
*Understanding a framework to structure your board so that it exercises good governance while participating in the work of the organization at the committee level
*Recognizing key aspects of, and being able to describe optimal board size, range of officers, committee chairs and typical committees
*Describing the link between board involvement and good governance in a nonprofit organization
