BOBBI CLEVELAND AND KEITH BROOKING TO RECEIVE THE 2008 REVOLUTIONS PHILANTHROPIC AWARDS AT ANNUAL GEORGIA NONPROFIT SUMMIT

Atlanta, GA - 3/27/2008 -

The Georgia Center for Nonprofits (GCN) announces that Mrs. Barbara T. (Bobbi) Cleveland and Mr. Keith Brooking will be the recipients of The Georgia Center for Nonprofits’s annual Revolutions Awards.

Bobbi Cleveland, Executive Director of the Tull Charitable Foundation, will receive the Legendary Philanthropist Award for her remarkable and ongoing legacy as a leader, advocate and community catalyst for over three decades. The Georgia Conservancy, APPLE Corps (a predecessor to the current Atlanta Education Fund), Family Connection Partnership, The Junior League of Atlanta, and Voices for Georgia’s Children are just a partial list of organizations in which Bobbi has played a founding or instrumental role.

Keith Brooking, founder of The Keith Brooking Children's Foundation and Atlanta Falcons All-Pro Linebacker, will receive the Emerging Philanthropist Award for his commitment to serving foster children and the agencies that serve them.  The inspiration for the establishment of the foundation is Keith's mother, Brenda Hembree, who is a foster parent. Throughout Keith's childhood, their home was a safe haven to children who were in need of compassion and love. The foundation’s signature program Locker 56 has provided children in need with over 1,000 pairs of new athletic shoes.

“It is a privilege and honor to recognize Bobbi Cleveland and Keith Brooking for their extraordinary leadership” says Karen Beavor, President and CEO of The Georgia Center for Nonprofits.

A total of four Revolutions awards will be given on Tuesday, May 6, 2008 at the 17th Annual Georgia Nonprofit Summit. The Summit is the largest gathering of nonprofit professionals in the Southeast. Each year hundreds of leaders from the corporate, government, academic and nonprofit arenas come together to address and exchange ideas and solutions about the top issues impacting the nonprofit community.
