Atlanta, Feb. 2, 2004—The Georgia Center for Nonprofits will convene nonprofit, business and government leaders to address public policy and legislative issues affecting charitable work, at its Pastries & Policy breakfast on Feb. 3.
The program will include an overview of legislation affecting nonprofits as a sector as well as a run-down of key issues affecting specific types of nonprofits, e.g., arts organizations.
The center will also release two reports with findings from its latest research on the state's nonprofit industry. The Georgia Nonprofit Sector Report details the size and scope of Georgia's nonprofit sector, and The Georgia Nonprofit Employment Report shows, for the first time, the role nonprofit employment plays in the state's economy.
Journalists may register for the event by calling Laura Caligan at 678-916-3005 or 404-966-6149 (cell).
