Atlanta, November 21, 2006—The Georgia Center for Nonprofits today announced it has received a $7,000 grant from The Allstate Foundation in support of its capacity-building programs for nonprofits in Georgia. The grant will go toward providing capacity-building resources—including training, information and consulting—to hundreds of organizations across the state.
“Just like a for-profit business, nonprofit organizations need tools, resources and expertise to be the best that they can be – and to deliver the services our communities need,” says Center President and CEO Karen Beavor. “That’s why Allstate’s grant means so much. By helping to build the capacity of nonprofits and their ability to deliver services, Allstate is, in fact, helping to build a stronger nonprofit sector in Georgia.”
The Allstate Foundation in the Southeast Region has been a partner with the Georgia Center for Nonprofits for many years, helping to provide grant funding for various training courses and programs,
“Allstate believes it is very important for corporations to take an active interest in the communities they serve,” said Allstate Field Vice President Cliff Butler. “We are proud to partner with such a worthwhile cause through The Allstate Foundation, and this grant will help provide much-needed support for the work of nonprofit organizations across the state of Georgia.”
